The United Nations Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) is the UN’s internal oversight body. Established by the General Assembly, it assists the Secretary-General in oversight of the Organization’s resources and staff through internal audit, investigation, inspection and evaluation. OIOS provides objective information on risks and challenges, promotes accountable administration and stronger programme performance, and operates through three functional divisions: Internal Audit, Inspection and Evaluation, and Investigations.
