Mandate
The United Nations Capital Development Fund is the UN’s autonomous capital fund, established in 1966 and voluntarily funded while affiliated with UNDP. It deploys grants, loans, guarantees and advisory support to unlock public and private finance in the last mile: least developed countries, small island developing States and fragile settings. UNCDF works with governments, local institutions, investors and enterprises to strengthen MSME, subnational, digital, climate and inclusive-finance markets.
