Mandate

INTERPOL, the International Criminal Police Organization, enables police to cooperate across borders. Founded in 1923, it connects national law-enforcement authorities through secure communications, databases, notices, analytical support, operational coordination and capacity building. INTERPOL does not replace national police or make arrests; it provides the tools and coordination that help member countries prevent and combat transnational crime while operating within its rules of neutrality.
