Your Excellencies, ladies and gentlemen, exactly 66 years ago, six days only after becoming independent and sovereign, Mali, under the leadership of President Modibo Keita, was admitted to the UN with the support of the Republic of Tunisia and of the Ceylon, currently Sri Lanka.
We welcome the theme of the 81st session of the General Assembly, namely, restoring trust, supporting transformation, a United Nations organization that delivers for all.

Regarding Japan's national security policy, the defense capabilities Japan maintains are kept to the minimum necessary to ensure Japan's security in the face of the most severe and complex security environment since the end of World War II.

I wish to once again recall the following: The war in Sudan has now entered its fourth year.

Chad once again categorically rejects with the greatest firmness these absolutely groundless allegations.
Chad has already responded to the report that was alluded to, which provides no material evidence and which does nothing but peddle allegations that come from dubious sources.
