Thank you, Mr. President. It is unfortunate that I am compelled to exercise my right of reply in response to the statements by North Korea and China, which made just now the statement. Regarding Japan's national security policy, the defense capabilities Japan maintains are kept to the minimum necessary to ensure Japan's security in the face of the most severe and complex security environment since the end of World War II. Under the Constitution's Japan adheres to the basic policy of exclusively maintaining national defense-oriented policy without becoming a military power that poses a threat to other countries. Also, Japan firmly maintains the three non-nuclear principles. Japan will never change the course it has taken as a peace-loving nation. Regarding so-called enemy state clauses in the UN charters, UNGA Resolution 50/52, adopted with overwhelming support, including that of China in 1995, recognized these clauses as obsolete. Furthermore, UNGA Resolution 60/1, adopted by consensus, including the leaders of China, in 2005, resolved to defeat references to enemy states from the UN Charter. Regarding the issues relating to history, I must make it clear. All nations must be humble about their history, and Japan has squarely faced its history. As former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe clearly stated in his statement on 14th August 2015, that Japan has repeatedly expressed the feelings of deep remorse and heartfelt apologies for its action during the war, and that such position articulated by previous cabinets will remain unshakable into the future. The current administration has upheld in its entirety the positions of previous cabinets in history, including their prime minister's statements, and will continue to do so. Reflecting upon the past eight decades, Japan has consistently walked the path of a peace-loving nation and has consistently contributed to peace and prosperity in the international community since the end of World War II. This is widely and accurately recognized and highly appreciated by the international community. Freedom, democracy, and fundamental human rights remain unshakable foundations of Japan's every decisions and action. Guided by these principles, Japan has made assiduous efforts to promote the rule of law in international society, stressing the importance of compliance with international law, including the UN Charter.
